Orpheus Chamber Singers

Night Sounds

Gentle, thoughtful, exquisite, and, on occasion, joyful evokes Night Sounds, a program of choral music to be enjoyed in the quiet of the evening. These works address the three topics which artistic director Donald Krehbiel associates most closely with the evening hours: prayer, love, and mystery. Mr. Krehbiel assembled a disc of music that is breath-takingly beautiful. The disc's featured work, Joel Martinson's scintillating Evening Music, was commissioned by Orpheus Chamber Singers in 2001 and this is its world premiere recording.

We recorded this, our second compact disc, after our October 2001 concert of the same title. Of that performance, The Dallas Morning News wrote, "The finest classical music group in the whole Dallas-Fort Worth area just may be - drumroll - the Orpheus Chamber Singers."
