About the Artistic Director
Donald Krehbiel is the founder and Artistic Director of Orpheus Chamber Singers. He holds degrees in vocal performance and church music from Bethel College and Southern Methodist University, where he studied organ with Dr. Robert T. Anderson and conducting with Lloyd Pfautsch. Mr. Krehbiel has been a frequent performer with early music ensembles, including the Dallas Bach Society, New Mexico Symphony, Handel/Haydn Society of Austin and the Texas Baroque Ensemble. He has also performed with the Robert Shaw Festival Singers and the Carmel Bach Festival. Mr. Krehbiel has served as Director of Music for Methodist and Episcopal churches over the past twenty-five years, and is currently the Director of Music at First Unitarian Church of Dallas, a church he has served for fourteen years.
