Reflections

  • St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church 6306 Kenwood Avenue Dallas, TX, 75214 United States (map)

Living composers are writing new anthems and motets using 16th and 17th century masterpieces as their inspiration. This entire concert will feature original motets such as J. S. Bach’s ‘Komm, Jesu, komm’, with a reflection by American Ted Hearne, and Allegri’s famous ‘Miserere Mei” with the 7 high C’s, followed by a reflection by British composer Alexander Campkin. To this intriguing program, we’re delighted to welcome two superb High School chamber choirs from Keller and Cedar Hill, singing individually and with Orpheus. And if that’s not enough, we will also premiere a new work by Shavon Lloyd, winner of our inaugural student composition competition.
