Inspired by Bach's "St. Matthew's Passion" and based on Hans Christian Andersen's famous story, David Lang's "Little Match Girl Passion" won the 2008 Pulitzer for Music. Four Orpheus soloists - Haley Sicking, Katrina Burggraf, Sammy Sweet, and Hastings Reeves - will bring this story to life.

Our January 24 performance will take place in partnership with The Cedars Union. The concert will take place in the Boedeker - a former ice cream warehouse - which will provide a stark and haunting backdrop for the performance. Please note: the Boedeker can only be entered by stairs and is not ADA accessible.
